Akkim Kimya, the leading chemical material manufacturer of Türkiye, was established in Yalova in 1977. Manufacturing in five different locations with more than a thousand personnel, Akkim has a special place in the chemical industry with its product variety. Akkim exports to more than 70 countries in six continents with its wide range of products including chlor-alkali and derivatives, peroxides, methylamines, persulfates, bisulphites, carboxymethyl cellulose, silicon polymers, textile auxiliaries, paper and water chemicals, construction chemicals and plastic additives. The company is the market leader in many products in basic chemicals and performance chemicals, and is the solution partner of cleaning, hygiene, water treatment, textile, paper, industrial coating, construction, plastic, food, metal, energy, detergent, drilling, and mining sectors.

Endeavoring to create a wide variety of products to meet well-analyzed needs in the R&D Center established in 2013, Akkim has transformed into an organization capable of innovating at global standards. The use of resources has been reshaped effectively and efficiently, considering market and customer demands. The company sells some of its know-how and technologies to the overseas companies since 2002, and renders several different services from engineering works to turn-key contracting.

Using its presence and synergy in the water treatment sector, Akkim entered the high-tech treatment sector with an ultrafiltration membrane module investment in its Yalova Facility. With its modern factory commissioned in 2016, it is the first and only manufacturer of this product in the region from Europe to Asia.

The company always attaches importance to inorganic growth opportunities. By acquiring Akcoat (Gizem Frit), the world’s leading manufacturer of chemical coating materials, in 2015, Akkim has added value to the white goods, kitchen utensils, oven, enamel, ceramic and glass industries. Akkim acquired Dinox, a chemical sales and marketing company in Germany, in 2017 in order to be close to customers in the European market and to expand its export activities. Akcoat, on the other hand, made an important integration investment by acquiring Megacolor, which manufactures ceramic printing inks in Spain. In 2021, Akkim incorporated USK Kimya, Türkiye’s largest carboxymethyl cellulose manufacturer. In the last quarter of the year, the company established Akkim Silikon Kimya and started the manufacturing of silicone polymers, which are high-tech products, in its Yalova facilities. With Türkiye’s first epoxy resin manufacturing facility, which has been approved for investment and will be commissioned at the beginning of 2024, the manufacturing of a completely imported product with high strategic importance will also be started. Akkim aims to be among the leading players in the field of silicone polymers and epoxy resins on a global scale with its investments in Akkim Silikon Kimya ve Epoksi resin manufacturing facility.

Pioneering the spread of universal principles on the path of sustainable development, Akkim Kimya signed the United Nations Global Compact in 2007 and is an exemplary company in the field of sustainability in the chemical industry.
